this is the second embarrassing start in a row following being ranked.
The mindset on this group has changed in the last couple weeks. Absolutely terrible time for this to happen, as conference play starts next week.

We are not a good team. This poor nonconference schedule is a blessing in disguise, to get injuries out of the way and work out the kinks. It doesn't seem like a strong Pac-12, so I think we still get into tournament. But these near losses to very poor teams is very concerning.

Any team that shoots 40% from 3 is going to give USC trouble. When a team is hot, they need to do a better job of forcing them to drive to the hoop where Metu can force a bad shot. Too many times, they ran a simple screen and got the 3 point shooter a good look. On the bright side, Buggs had one of his best games of the year. Given Rakocevic doesn't know how to guard or rebound without fouling, USC is going to need Buggs with Boatwright out.

I haven't seen last night's game, but from the score it looks like the Troy game where the offense was OK but the great perimeter defense they had been playing suffered.

We need Elijah Stewart to start playing better. He is settling for the 3 right now.

We need Elijah Stewart to start playing better. He is settling for the 3 right now. Yes. And we really need to concentrate a whole lot more on defense in the early stages of halves.

Meh. Hard to get motivated for games like this. Cornell started hot, and then we basically dominated the last 30 minutes of play. This team has some improving to do, but it wasn't gonna be a straight line up.

Couple of takes from last night. Is it my imagination or does it seem like every team has 1 player who will hit about 4 straight 3s to start the game against us? We seem to have no sense of urgency on D to start the game. It's as if our mindset is "well they can't keep shooting like this the whole game"...Why not start the game by contesting the 3? However if they are hitting them then why not run them off the 3 point line and make them dribble into Metu. My only answer to that is maybe AE doesn't want Metu to get in early foul trouble and I'm ok with that...if that is truly the answer. What's even more alarming is watching AE's reaction to giving up uncontested 3s..NOTHING..NADA...like it's okay. I've only missed the Troy game this year but what I've just stated is like a broken record for each game. It will catch up to us come conference time...
