Back in April, this site predicted that Julian would forego his senior year, put his name in the NBA Draft, not get invited to the NBA Combine, decide to stay in the Draft anyway and sign with an agent, go undrafted, and fail to make an NBA roster.
Sadly, all of that happened as predicted.
I have to admit, I just don't get it. Because Julian elected to take a preseason spot with the Lakers, he is now too late to join any of the major European leagues this season, and will probably have to play in the NBA Developmental League -- where the the salary cap for an individual player is $25,000 per season!!!
The value of a free of free tuition with training table and other scholarship perks at USC is literally worth three times that amount. Plus, he would have had a chance to really shine with some really good talent, and ultimately get himself drafted -- a much safer route to the NBA. Undrafted players almost never make it their first year.

Agree with roxycontin. Outside of some animosity towards the coaches / team or a dire family situation, his decision seems as illogical then as it does now.
Read that Capko said at recent alumni event that "there were no hard feelings" with Julian leaving. Statement was meant as praise for JMac, but still thought that was a telling turn of phrase. Unfortunate things have played out this way.
I think Jacobs is certainly talented enough to make a good living playing basketball for the next decade and I hope he makes decisions to maximize his basketball and earning potential moving forward.

He should have stayed. wonder who was telling him he would get drafted! Saw him play Friday with the Lakers against Denver for part of the last quarter, and thought how nice it would be to still have him playing for the Trojans
