How good can this team be come tournament time assuming 1) they keep improving at a reasonable rate 2) Melton and Matthews do not hit the Freshman wall; 3) and everyone is healthy including Boatwright and Buggs? Trying to gauge the upside here. Thanks in advance!

Great thoughts on your part. Key in taking that next step is beating teams first inside with Metu and Boatwright, Buggs. Establish our inside presence and then let the shooters and slashers jump in. But we will need our bigs to win the tougher games when we are on the road and/or have off shooting nights. Also we have to defend the three better. I don't know the stats but we seem to give up a good chunk of outside points. And another important issue i really hope we can avoid is keeping Metu and Boatwright out of foul trouble in conference play. We will need big minutes from our big men. The freshman seem to be coming along well and the leaders like JMac and Stuart have the team following their lead. Fight On!

Even in the conference its 5th. But still no excuse to give up that many threes. Would the presence of Bennie made a huge difference? SC seems to be good at steals (57 nationally and 1st in conference) and blocked shots per game (8th nationally, 3rd in conference) stats.ncaa.org/rankings/ranking_summary

First key is to get Bennie Buckets back making threes and rebounding. If that doesn't happen it is a short ride.
If that does happen, and everyone stays on pace though conf season, this is a legit sweet 16 team

Thanks for the stats Troy. Wow. We look good in the steals department. And i do think Boatwright would be effective guardig some of those bigger players who can spread the floor and knock down outside shots. Big road trip coming up. Fight On!
