My prediction: 12-6
My optimistic prediction: 13-5
Anything worse than 10-8 would be extremely disappointing.

11-7 should be the low bar...13-5 being optimal.

If we can sweep the Washington schools, Oregon State and Arizona State, then I think we're looking at SC's first 12-win conference since 2002. Of course, that's a big if.

I will be greedy and say 12 conference wins. But maybe 11-7 is more realistic. Let the games begin...

Why not 14-4?

I think people here have seen so many disappointments (sanctions, O'Neill, last year's early exit, Jacobs leaving) that they are being conservative on their predictions. Would 14-4 be good enough for 2nd?

10-8 is realistic for this team and I would be happy with that.

UCLA and Oregon are both elite teams - it will be hard to win a game against them. Arizona is beatable, but it is never easy to win at McKale. They become elite if Trier becomes eligible.
Utah is much better than their record indicates with their mid-year transfers being eligible. Stanford, CU and Cal could win on any given night. My guess is we go 2-4 against UCLA, Oregon and Arizona and then it is unlikely we win all our games against Stanford, CAL, CU and Utah.

You're right that at this point it's just a guess. Might as well guess we go 4-2 against UCLA, Oregon and Arizona.
Outside of Lonzo Ball, I don't see much difference in the talent level. Nobody has so far proven themselves "elite," whatever that means.
We'll see when we play some games.

The team has had 3 seasons with a winning conference record in the last 10 years. The last time they had both an undefeated non conference & a winning conference record was '70/71... the only time.
I believe 11-7 this season is very possible.

Currently, I see 5 automatic losses. 2 against UCLA, 2 against Oregon and 1 @ Arizona. If we can pull out 1 win against those 5 I'd be thrilled. I think those teams are a lot better than we are right now. They've also played a MUCH better OOC schedule. Our OOC has been pretty weak and we've played almost 0 road games. So . . .
1-4 in the 5 I mentioned 10-3 in the remaining
That puts us at 11-7 which seems about right. Depending on how well the conference does, that should put us at a 6-7 seed.

Need to sweep schools like Oregon State, Wazzu, Arizona State and Stanford. Will probably split with Colorado and Utah on the road...but going an O'fer is possible with how they've faired against them in the past on the road. I honestly think USC matches up well vs Arizona but terribly against Oregon and UCLA. A win against Oregon and UCLA is house money, but it all starts tonight at Corvallis.

I think a lot depends on when Bennie comes back and how he plays once he's back, but I see us at 11-7/10-8, but I'll hope for more.

Whats exciting to ponder is the possibilities...in order for USC to beat the big boys we have to be clicking on all cylinders...BB has to come back stronger than ever...could be a special season if we take down some of those teams... One last positive on this undefeated start: the guys know they have a target on their back. Gotta play hard from start to finish!!

Here is my prediction. Cal/Utah/Col/Stanford are all interchangeable and I have us splitting those games 2 - 2.
Oregon State W Oregon L Stanford W California L Utah W Colorado L Arizona L ASU W UCLA L Washington W WSU W Oregon State W Oregon L UCLA L Arizona L ASU W WSU W Washington W Win/ Loss Record 10 - 8
