These next 4 are the most important games in our season.
vs Stanford (likely 0-2) vs Cal (gave UVA a good game and playing well against Arizona) @ Utah (not a great match for us) @ CU (always tough at home)
If we want to be a 3-6 seed in the NCAA tournament we need to go 3-1. If we go 1-3, we become a NCAA bubble team and will struggle to go 9-9 in PAC12 play.

If our first two games performance is indicative of our Pac 12 play then we will be fortunate to win 8 games IMHO.

The funny thing about the next four games is those four teams tend to play a more physical style of play which are teams we struggle with. I thought we made up some ground with the physicality this year but if tonight is any indication we could be in trouble. we were due for a loss so just hoping tonight was aberration.

I was expecting a little more from JMac. When things are sputtering he needs to drive and kick or put up floaters or give us layups. Notice in the first 15 minutes of the game we were right there and then he heads to the bench with foul trouble and we are suddenly down 9 or 10 at the half. It all starts with our Captain. Play with a chip on your shoulder this week guys!!

It's exactly why we miss juju smith so much, juju could break down his defender off the dribble and penetrate at will. This broke down the defense for his kick outs for open threes. I don't think that JMAC can always or as easily do this, just not as physically gifted as Juju. JMAC is still the better all around player just not as quick as juju was. What we really need IMHO is for Metu to become an animal in the low post, he has the offensive skill set to dominate he just doesn't displayed the aggressive determination it takes to dominate down low. It would really help this team if he would setup down low and demand the ball.

Completely agreed the re: next 4 games. I would happily take 2-2 over that stretch. I think the Stanford game especially will be one of the most important games of the year. They're a solid but beatable team and we desperately need to play with energy and hopefully hit some shots to regain confidence.
If we blow the Stanford game, we are on a very slippery slope to 0-4 over this stretch. I don't know that the team could recover from that and still make the tournament. I said it when Boatwright got hurt and still think that the team just needs to tread water and stay afloat over this first stretch of P12 until he (knock on wood) comes back. Then we'll learn what the true ceiling for this team is. I think we'll know a lot more about the character of this team after these next couple games...
