1 Ore 2 Az 3 UCLA 4 Cal 5 CU 6 UW 7 USC 8 Utah 9 OSU 10 Stan 11 ASU 12 WSU
We think that SC, but maybe really more Oregon St., have legitimate beefs. And we just don't see it with Cal and UDub.

Cal is very talented despite losing Jaylen Brown, Jordan Mathews & Ty Wallace. Having Ivan Rabb stick around for another year was huge, but bringing in Grant Mullins (Columbia transfer), & Marcus Lee (Kentucky transfer). They'll also get a boost in production from Jabari Bird and Stephen Domingo.

Marcus Lee is not eligible this season. Grant Mullins is a mid major spot shooter. Stephen Domingo has scored 79 points in 500+ minutes over three seasons of college basketball; he's not going to turn into a productive offensive player all of the sudden. Jabari Bird is essentially a less-athletic, slightly poorer shooting version of Elijah Stewart. If Bird had come out of high school as a 3-star, instead of a 5-star, people would not be speculating on him turning into a star player every season. He's a good player, but not nearly good enough given the dearth of talent there.

Watched a lot of Cal basketball last season and can vouch that Domingo is borderline unplayable. He passes the eye test though! For Cal to be 4, Rabb would need to be P12 POY, Bird would need to have his best season yet and they'll need to get something from Charlie Moore. Not out of the question but I think 4 is the high end of their potential.
I think you could make an argument for any order in standings 4-9 in P12 this year. All those teams have good talent and a bunch of question marks. Feel good about USC's chances mainly because I think the USC starting 5 is clearly the best out of that group.
