He was waived by the Pistons earlier in the week. It's unclear if the next move is overseas or the D League.

Whoever was in his entourage at SC and convinced him to declare, I wonder if that person is still in his entourage? Nikola definitely needed another year at SC to refine his game. Although, his experience in trying to catch on with an NBA team must be beneficial, he was a year too early.

Nik got his degree, and should be able to find a spot overseas playing professionally, though maybe not at the top level right away. If he came back, yes, he could have been part of a potentially special team, but he would have seen his minutes dwindle and Metu emerges.

He was waived by the Pistons earlier in the week. It's unclear if the next move is overseas or the D League. He's doesn't have NBA talent...pure and simple. Unless he really hated school it was a BAD decision. He should've gotten his degree and went to Europe to play. The only other reason, which I find hard to believe, is AE told him he wouldn't start and his minutes would be seriously reduced. If that was the case then I don't blame him for delclaring...

A question that is really tough to answer is: would you rather have Jovanovic for one more year; or have Rakocevic as a true freshman? Because we likely weren't getting both.
Without Rakocevic having played one minute of ball, it's tough to say. But as a practical matter, your team can probably only do so much with Jovanovic playing 25+ minutes per game. There is a ceiling there.

I would rather have Rakocevic because he fits the system much better tha NJ. Also, NJ ws very frustrating to watch and wouldn't pass the ball. Don't think NJ would have been happy playing less minutes and that was part of why he left.
