Both these players will be getting significantly more minutes in the rotation, getting minutes that were doled out to players that are no longer on the roster. With the increase of minutes, have they improved enough to make significant impact?
Can Bennie make strides with his rebounding and defense? I hope to see Elijah improve his ability to get his own shot and get to the foul line. Without increased production, I can see the missing minutes going to Melton and Matthews off the bench. For frontcourt players Buggs is more of a stretch 4 than a small forward like Boatwright so not sure who would take minutes from Bennie.

I agree that those two will be the keys, along with finding a reliable second ball handler (either Shaqquan or De'Anthony) and playing defense in the paint -- which was an area of big weakness for us last season: we were 2nd in the conference in 3pt FG% defense (32.7%), but 9th in 2pt FG% defense (49.5%); and 11th in defensive rebounding percentage (67.6%).
If we just became average in those two categories -- 2pt FG% defense and defensive rebounding -- we would give up about 7.5 points fewer per game .... and our conference scoring margin would have gone from -0.4 to +7 -- which would have put us in the top 3 in the conference.
