Who gets into the rotation? I've listed the complete roster with the possible top 9, in my opinion. Of course, a 9 or 10 man rotation is needed for a high tempo offense that CAE likes to employ. Who will break through, can the project or end of the bench players improve enough to get into the rotation?
Guards/wings (4) Jordan McLaughlin Elijah Stewart Shaqquan Aaron DeAnthony Melton
Frontcourt/bigs (3) Bennie Boatwright Chimezie Metu Charles Buggs
Role players/reserves (2) Jonah Matthews (guard) Nick Rakocevic (forward/center)
End of bench/projects (4) Harrison Henderson (forward) Kurt Karis (guard) Samer Dhillon (forward) Devin Fleming (guard)
Redshirt year(1) Derryck Thornton (guard)

I think the rotation will look a lot like you just posted. Last season we had a natural 7 man rotation that we'd extend to 9, sometimes 10. Will be the same this year.

I think there is a good chance Rakocevic will get more minutes than Mathews and get into regular rotation. If he is serviceable he could end up getting 15+ minutes a game. I just don't know how many minutes you can get away with having Boatwright and / or Buggs at the 5 without getting crushed inside. Nick's minutes will largely depend on how well Metu can stay out of foul trouble.

Buggs will have to play minutes at the 5 because of his experience in the Big 10, although, he's probably a stretch 4, too. I agree Rakocevic can see the rotation at the 5 spot, hopefully, he can gain enough experience in the non-conference schedule to help out during the conference season.
